We are a community of believers seeking to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Come and grow with us...through worship, Sunday school, or any of our weekly programs. We believe that our church is a special place where you can strengthen each of your relationships - family, friends, and most importantly Jesus Christ.

Senior Adult Ministry

Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?
• Job 12:12 •

In answer to Job’s ancient questions, “Yes, wisdom and understanding are found among those who have lived a long time, but it is not guaranteed.!” The spiritually dead may live a long life without real wisdom.  The Senior Adult Ministries at First Baptist Church seek to honor Jesus Christ and proclaim Him to Senior Adults in our community and beyond.

All senior adults are encouraged to be active in our Sunday School where God’s Word is faithfully taught.  Other fellowship and service opportunities are available in the Golden Fellowship and in the King’s Chorus.

Golden Fellowship meets at noon in our Christian Ministries Center on the second Tuesday of each month.  We all bring a covered dish (or two) and share in a wonderful potluck lunch followed by an informative program designed to facilitate our involvement in our church and community.

The King’s Chorus is a volunteer choir for senior adults, age 55 and up, and it meets at 10:00 a.m. each Tuesday morning,, except the second Tuesday.  This group sings at local nursing homes, the senior center and for special services in our church.  Many of the choir members elect to go out to eat together after choir each week, because this extends the fellowship they so much enjoy.

Each fall, we have a Senior Adult Retreat when our pastor leads us in a concentrated time of Bible Study and when we enjoy special shows and events in the area we are meeting.  Usually a shorter spring retreat is also planned each year.

Our senior adults are a vital part of our church’s life. Many seniors are active weekly as teachers throughout our Sunday School.  Many of our men can be seen changing light bulbs in our buildings and doing other necessary tasks.  Many of our ladies spend time assisting our church secretaries by answering the phones and doing other things to keep the work of our church running smoothly.  Our church can not do without the wisdom and understanding of our senior adults.
